Thank you for choosing to use our services. By making a booking for services, you are deemed to agree to these terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions).

About us
I, Alison Greenwood, am a sole trader working under the business name DogWuf Training & Behaviour (DogWuf).
I, Nigel Greenwood, am a sole trader working under the business name DogWuf Training & Behaviour (DogWuf).
 
Techniques and Handling Methods
The training techniques and behaviour modification methods that I use are designed to be kind, fair, force-free and non-aversive. Harsh handling of dogs, physical force, and the use of punitive methods/ punishment/ corrections, or equipment designed to be aversive (including choke chains, check chains, prong collars, spray collars, e-collars, or any other device I deem unacceptable) are not to be used.
 
Single Sessions
For 'Initial Support Visits' or 'Follow-up Visits', 100% payment is due on confirmation of booking.

Programmes
For fixed-term programmes, 100% payment is due on confirmation of booking. For those requiring split payments, please contact us directly.
 
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your package at any time after your purchase (including if you are part-way through a multi-session package), you will be refunded based on a calculation of the proportion of allocated practical sessions already used, less the incurred payment processing costs (between 1.4 - 2.9% + 20p - dependant on processor and card-type used) and an admin charge of £12.50.
​Cancellations, re-arranged bookings and refunds in circumstances outside the statutory 14-day cancellation period are subject to the following conditions:

• ​more than 72 hours' notice = full refund (less payment processing costs) or free to re-arrange session at no extra cost
• less than 72 hours' notice = no refund for cancellations or re-arranged sessions

If I have to cancel a session with you due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness/ emergency. In that case, I will make every effort to reschedule your session to another mutually convenient time. If this is not possible, I will refund you for the cost of that particular session.
​You will not have the right to cancel a contract once the services (including the time spent travelling to sessions and working with you in person or online) have been entirely performed.
 
Health & Injury
All dogs and puppies should be adequately protected against disease and appropriately treated for internal and external parasites.  We advise owners to consult their veterinary professional regarding such issues.  There can be no guarantee that there is absolutely no risk of disease at any venue or when in contact with any other dogs or materials, such as toys, which may have been in contact with other dogs.  It is the owner/handler’s responsibility to ensure that their dog is appropriately protected against the risk of disease. DogWuf accepts no responsibility for the potential or actual exposure of dogs to disease.  If an owner chooses not to routinely vaccinate their dog/ puppy (for example, because they are opting for titre testing or using homoeopathic nosodes). In this case, it is entirely the owner's choice and is a decision made at their own risk. In addition, we advise you to ensure your dog has not eaten within the hour before any exercise or play, to allow sufficient time for digestion. Failure to do so may result in the potentially life-threatening condition Bloat (Gastric Torsion). 
 
By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you are accepting full responsibility for the protection of your dog from the risk of disease or injury. Please advise me in advance of the session if your dog has been in contact with another dog infected with a contagious disease, if they appear unwell (e.g., vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, runny nose), or if any bitch has come into season.  Depending on the issue, it may be advisable to cancel or rearrange the session (see Refunds and Cancellations) if your dog has any known allergies or intolerances to certain foods or any other special needs. In that case, it is your responsibility to bring this to the trainer's attention before the start of the session and to provide appropriate alternative treats and so on. 
 
Engagement and Commitment
By consulting with DogWuf regarding your dog’s training, you agree to fully engage in the process to the best of your ability and understand that any changes will require commitment and consistency. It is not possible (or ethical) for me to guarantee a specific outcome in terms of your dog’s behaviour.

You understand that in instances where Ali or Nigel directly handles your dog, they will respond, and that your dog may not initially respond as reliably to you.
To ensure your dog’s response to you, you agree:

• To ensure understanding and to apply the basic principles of training as described and demonstrated.
• To source and use equipment essential for the behaviour, as advised by Ali or Nigel.
• To practice with the dog as and when appropriate and as agreed.
• To integrate training into daily life to support behaviour goals.
• To follow training and management advice as given by Ali or Nigel.

 
Privacy and Marketing
Photographs of your dog may be taken.  We may use such photos for record-keeping and/ or marketing purposes. Your dog's real name will not be used alongside their image.  If you do not wish for photographs of you and/or your dog to be taken, used, or shared, please let us know.  Any written feedback (e.g., by email or on feedback forms) may be used for marketing purposes (e.g., posted on the website).  Only the person's first name will be used for identification.  If you are not happy for us to use your feedback in this way, please just let us know.  Permission must be granted by us before any photography or videography of training/ behaviour sessions with us takes place.  You can view our full privacy policy, which we are happy to provide a copy upon request.
 
Disclaimer
You understand that working with dogs and modifying behaviour poses a risk of injury. You agree to ensure that necessary steps are taken at all times to prevent injury to yourself, your dog(s) and others, including the use of a muzzle and avoidance of situations that might trigger behaviour. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ali Greenwood or Nigel Greenwood against any losses, liabilities, judgments, awards and costs (including legal fees and expenses) arising out of, or related to, any claim of injury to persons or property of any kind, whether before, during or after the consultation and when implementing suggested techniques with your dog(s).  You understand and accept that your dog (and their behaviour) remains entirely your responsibility at all times, whether or not in the presence of Ali or Nigel Greenwood.
